Quote Puzzler Down Time
Wednesday, March 11, 2009
|
As many of you have probably already noticed, the Quote Puzzler website is currently unavailable. This issue began last evening and has persisted through the night. I have been in contact with the website's host, and anticipate that the problem will be resolved at some point during the day, though I cannot predict when that will happen. Please check back from time to time during the day to see if the site is back online.
Thank you for your patience.

Does the Webmaster realize how addicted some of us are to our Daily Quote Puzzles???
:O help? ... I might have to resort to sudoku!
I do indeed realize that! Believe me - this makes a very stressful day for me!
While you're waiting for the site to come back online, you can play some fun word games, math games, etc at The Problem Site.
I hope you get it sorted soon... what a nuisance (for you, as well as us QP addicts, lol!) I've been checking about every half hour since noon, and it's now nearly 7pm here... still no joy.
I love the fact that this website has so many addicts - it is a high form of flattery. However, it makes the downtime all the more stressful.
Unfortunately, I'm at a standstill; there is nothing I can do until the host deals with their issues.
Of course, all subscribers will have their subscriptions appropriately extended, once the issue is resolved.
Well, if it gets up late at night will the people who do it then get points for this weeks scores? Because I am really high up there but I need to go to bed now.
Yes, once the site is back up and running, all scores count.
Well, Nytekien and I have spent much of the day at the hospital with my dad, who is in with bad pneumonia. So our one small consolation is that we didn't miss a day of puzzling, because you know, THAT would be really bad....
:-)
I hope this gets resolved soon though, Douglas, for your sake!
OH, and I show up as Nancy here, but I'm "nrkii" on QP.
Ha, I hadn't even thought of the name confusion. I show up as 'Sue' here and am Kukana on QP.
I don't usually switch the computer on until noon, but today (Thursday) did it four and a half hours early, in the hope that the site might be back, and I could play before the start of the new day in the USA.
Alas, it's still down. Seems like it must be a major problem :-(
not to put anymore stress on you, Jeorge, but...
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :.(...
...and I still have NO idea what agitate a skyscraper means, and i've been thinking about it ALL day.. nothing flashes.
The hosting company has assured me they've got their techs working on the issue. I'm really quite disappointed to discover that the site is still down this morning.
Nancy - I hope your dad has a swift recovery, and I'm glad this issue made your day LESS stressful.
Sue - I figured out who you were by visiting your blog. :)
Tis - Good luck figuring out the skyscraper agitation. I expected people would have a hard time with that, but a few people have figured it out already! (And for anyone wondering what we're referring to...BrainFood at The Problem Site)
Doh! I finally got it... You probably should have mentioned that, not only can't the first person talk straight, the second person cannot hear straight, either!
Ha, well I looked at that problem, and 'heard' the answer in my mind immediately (but then I've always liked spoonerisms..) - so then I had to register and confirm my address before I could submit an answer!
I really don't want to get addicted to another puzzle site...
Hi, I show up as Bulf on QP. At least with it down all day yesterday people won't be ahead for the week or month because nobody could do it at all.
Oh gawd... I'm going through withdrawal symptoms!!!
Currently I am in the process of doing a complete move of the website from one space to another.
While I'm in this process, visiting quote-puzzler.com may result in some very strange messages. Don't panic! It's progress even if it doesn't look like it.
Whew, I was about to run around the room screaming...
Where have i been that I've never heard of a 'spoonerism'?
Anyway, Wikipedia's entry had me in tears from laughing so hard.
And Google found a website called 'fabelbish'... honest!
I don't remember when I first learned about Spoonerisms, but I'm pretty sure I was fairly young. They've always fascinated and amused me.
Hmmm...maybe we should have a site named www.puote-quzzler.com :)
